Now I was up till late night (or early morning) making a presentation which, it turned out, would not even be graded. Ran to the class without a bath or breakfast, a few minutes late. Fatigued. So I zoned out in the Strategy class. Had seen these matrices before by consultants and scientists being done as a fun activity. So here I present, personally home grown – B-Schooler Matrix. Find out where you and your friends are. Read on !
The Axes –
Measuring Academic Performance
• Grades
• Additionally, exams like CFA may be taken into account
Measuring Social Interaction
• Participation in clubs, communities, competitions
• Facebook, Orkut, Twitter presence
And now the descriptions:
Total Stud – “That was easy”
• Extremely Rare
• You can easily imagine him smiling
• Diverse knowledge
Super Talented – “Why am I here?”
• Very good in one area, most probably design
• High on creativity
• Good with fellow students
RG Freak – “Show me the money”
• High on hard work, low on creativity
• Low on communication
• Good with professors
Nirvana – “F*ck everything”
• Very high on intelligence
• Addictive tendencies –poker, video games, dope, booze, or even books
• Comfortable with oneself and clear on priorities
Comments invited on how to upgrade/enrich/use the matrix.
hey, nice one 🙂
Thanks 🙂
You can consider a career in consulting. But the real way of getting these matrices right is to make some for your assignments and pass them off as C K Prahlad’s. 🙂
Aah.. I did consider, but I doubt if I am correctly positioned on the X-axis. 😛
The real way you suggest is enlightening ! 🙂
hehehe..
interesting read definitely!
🙂
Thanks..
Hey man!! great article…….m sure that I have a stud in my pgp group… 😛
Thanks..
Well.. I am surely not the one 😛
we all know who the Stud is in ur grp..
gr8 job..pretty insightful… 😀
as a future addition..maybe u can put each of the pgp1s in a zone..tht wud be real fun..!!!
@Vaibhav – Thanks 🙂
Well I guess each pgp1 can figure out where they are.. and where they want to be.
I was thinking of getting some pgp2’s in here along with their Placement data. Then we could see which category goes where and make predictions for the current batch.
Wish I could submit this as Scenario Analysis 😛
Love the 2×2 matrix approach… unluckily, I was the person smack in the middle between all squares. Average!
Thanks !
Well, at least you were not the academics obsessed type 🙂
God beware, no.
