Business and Society

March 5, 2010 § 2 Comments

An honest business, is in itself a kind of social work. People create a business to provide happiness, satisfaction, convenience, and we pay them for that. Fair exchange. And then an idea by someone may change our lives in a way we never imagined.

To hate money might be just to hate one’s desire for it.

I believe, an honest businessman never does social work.As you said businessmen provide happiness, satisfaction…etc but these things are not free!!! One have to pay for them none other than money ..so its a trade not a social work; as defined theoretically.Because money is the only thing which can buy all these things… so I don’t think any body will deny for it.
And a business man who says I am a social worker exemplify hypocrisy!!!

@Nayan – Thanks for sharing your ideas. You are right that it is a trade. But that’s the point – in a fair trade, both the parties are better off. Its a win-win situation. If an inventor creates a useful product and sells it for a fair price, a lot of people are better off and value is added to society as a whole.

Social work as seen as volunteering or donations of course adds value to the society, but I am saying that business does too.
