‘Globe’

April 23, 2010 § Leave a comment

In B-School parlance (in India at least), any talk which is too vague, general and mostly meaningless is called – ‘globe’. After spending 9 months there, I now see that not only business-people, but public speakers from all walks of life – politicians, (so-called) religious people, TV anchors, all give a lot of globe.

Though considered disrespectable, it works because people want to hear it. Why?

Maybe because they can give their own meaning to what is vague.
